Day 3:
Off to the French Countryside!

After breakfast, the group will leave its Paris hotel for the picturesque Champagne region of France.  This is an amazing full-day tour combining the art of producing Champagne in the Epernay region and the history heritage of France in Reims. You will be picked up at your hotel around 7.30 am and will reach the Champagne region in less than 2 hours. En route to Epernay, the road is surrounded by vineyards for 20 miles making this a picturesque, scenic drive. Epernay is a typical French country side city, home to all the famous champagne estates. LVMH - Moet and Chandon is known worldwide as one of the best champagne producers. You will visit one of its properties, Mercier, founded in 1858. You will be accompanied inside the cellars where you will board a laser-guided train to visit the 10 miles of cellars before enjoying a tasting of a Mercier cuvee (note: Mercier can be replaced by the famous Mumm Champagne cellar). You will have lunch in Epernay at a traditional local restaurant (3 course menu, drinks not included).

Next continue with the most remarkable champagne house, Moet and Chandon, founded in 1743.  This is the biggest cellar of the city with 18 miles of tunnels. After the visit you will taste this exceptional champagne. During these visits you will have the opportunity to buy some bottles as all the cellars have their own shops. You will leave Epernay, crossing over the hills towards Reims and into the charming village of Hautvillers with its ancient abbey where Dom Perignon is buried.

Reims is just a few miles far from Epernay.  Reims is an impressive city and is known for  its 13th century gothic cathedral where all the French kings have been crowned. You will see the outskirts of the Palace of Tau, and if time allows, you will also visit the St. Remi basilica dating from the 12th century. You will be back in Paris by 6.00 pm to enjoy an evening at leisure.

Day 4:

Start the day with the smell of freshly baked bread!  Enjoy a one-hour "behind the scenes" bakery tour!
Take home a warm baguette and croissant!  10am-11am

Leisure time until 2:00pm.  Until then, try a picnic in a park!  Pick up some local cheese to enjoy with your baguettes!

2:00pm.  Explore the St. Germain des Pres area while enjoying a 3-hour pastry and chocolate tour!  We taste the specialties of the visited shops, in particular 3 pastries, 5 chocolates and several sorts of bread. There will not be any demonstrations during this tour, although it might be possible to watch some pastries being made. However, it depends on the shops visited that day and what their production schedule is for the day. Evening at leisure.

Day 5:

After breakfast, we will venture up to Montmartre to enjoy this quaint part of town with a walking food tour (11:00am - 2:00pm).   We will enjoy 7 different tastings to include chocolate, macarons, bread, cheese, hams and sausages, crepes and a secret dish washed down with the perfect wine!

Afternoon is at your leisure to explore the beautiful Sacre Coeur Basilique and Place du Tertre where artists await to paint your portrait.

Depart hotel at 7:30 for dinner in the sparkling Eiffel Tower!  Our farewell dinner will include a champagne aperitif followed by a sumptuous 3-course dinner with wine.
